Student event directors are elected by the student body. These student event directors will be assisting the adult event directors, the arena director and the stock contractors during the rodeo. 

Specific responsibilities include:

making sure that contestants are at the gate, in order and ready to compete
making sure that contestants are getting the stock drawn
setting up barrels or poles and stacking the arena
getting steer daubing mitts or sticks ready
making sure all supplies needed for each rodeo i.e chalk, string
