2010-2011 IJRA Princess

Sydney Hurley was crowned the 2010-2011 Indiana Junior Rodeo Princess at the IJRA State Finals. Sydney is the 12 year old daughter of Chris and Jody Hurley. She attends Woodside Middle School where she is a 7th grader. Sydney has been an IJRA member for five years and competes in the Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, Breakaway Roping and Goat Tying. She is also a member of the Indiana Cinch Jr. High Division Rodeo Team. Sydney qualified for the Cinch Finals her first year in the Pole Bending and was also named the Indiana Cinch Division Rookie of the Year. In addition, Sydney is the 2010 IJRA Pole Bending Champion and the 2009 3-4-5 Girls All-Around Champion.

As the IJRA Princess, Sydney plans to focus on promoting the Indiana Junior Rodeo Association. She has already attended professional rodeos and assisted with the kids events for the spectators. Sydney hopes that by being out in the rodeo community, she will be able to increase the awareness of IJRA all over the state of Indiana. Sydney also plans to have themed IJRA rodeos to add more fun as well as raise funds during the rodeos. Her first event will be a Tough Enough to Wear Pink rodeo. Sydney will also focus on increasing IJRA sponsorships as well as fundraising.
