The Indiana Junior Rodeo Association also
provides opportunities for children who have not entered kindergarten to
participate in the sport of rodeo. Preschool Rodeos will be held at most of the
IJRA Rodeos. They will begin immediately following slack unless otherwise
noted on the schedule.
The events offered are:
pee wee barrels (lead-line, riding or using a stick horse), goat tail untying
(lead-line, riding or using a stick horse), lead-line mutton busting, bale
roping and bale dogging. The entry fee is $3 for goat tail untying and
lead-line mutton busting. All others are $1 for each event. Time will be kept
and prizes will be awarded to all participants. Your family does not have to be
members of IJRA for your children to participate in the Preschool Rodeo. Sign
up sheets will be available at the announcer's stand at each rodeo for
contestants to sign up. A sign up sheet for volunteers to help in the arena,
announcing and timing will be available at each rodeo also.
