K-1-2, 3-4-5, 6-7-8 (Jackpot)

A.    TIME LIMIT: Thirty (30) Seconds.

A barrier/score line will be used. Please refer to General Rules. A ten-second penalty shall be assessed for breaking the barrier.

B. Two (2) adults will be appointed as designated headers with one (1) adult serving as an alternate header.

C. The adult header will start from the left-hand box facing the arena. Heeler must start from right hand box.

D. The steer will be roped around both horns by the header before leaving the chute.

E. Steer belongs to Contestant after the flag leaves the steer.

F. Contestant carries only one (1) rope and is allowed one (1) throw. No tied ropes are allowed.

G. The contestant's time will stop when the rope becomes tight on one (1) or two (2) of the back feet of the steer and the flag is dropped by the Judge.

H. Steer must not be handled roughly at any time, or Contestant may be disqualified if, in the opinion of the field Judge, they have intentionally done so.

I. Broken rope or dropped rope will be considered a "No Time"

J. If heeler ropes a front foot or feet in the heel loop, this is a foul catch. However, should the front foot or feet come out of the heel loop by the time the field Judge drops his flag, time will be counted.

K. Legal Catches:

1. Any heel catch behind both shoulders is legal if rope goes up heels.
2. One hind foot receives a five (5) second penalty.
3. If loop crosses itself in heel catch, it is legal.

L. Judge should approve heel loops

M. Entry fee to be $17. Of this fee, $2.00 will be applied to the jackpot. This is a jackpot event, and will not count as points.

N. Contestant has the option to push calf, but must provide pusher.

O. Contestant is limited to one (1) entry per rodeo.

P. Contestant who compete in Team Roping Heeling Jackpot are ineligible to compete in Team Roping Heeling at the same rodeo. (Heeling Jackpot is designed to be an introductory step into Team Roping.)

Q.    The steer may not be roped in either roping box. Roping the steer while it is in either of the two boxes will results in a no time.
