BARRELS K-1-2 Boys Event and Girls Event

 

*Contestant shall have the option to run through the gate if there is a staging area and if arena conditions allow.

 

A.    TIME LIMIT: Sixty (60) Seconds

B     PROPERTIES:

1.         Three 55-gallon barrels.

C.     Contestant leaves start/finish line with forward motion.

D.     Contestant may choose the direction of the pattern (beginning the first barrel to the right or left), but must follow the designated pattern.  (See Barrel Pattern.)

E.     Contestant will be assessed five seconds for each barrel knocked over.

F.     Contestant shall be disqualified for any of the following:

1.         Re-crossing the start/finish line before completing pattern, as arena conditions allow.

2.         Knocking three barrels down.

3.         Not continuing in a forward motion.

G.    Should a barrel fall after Contestant crosses the start/finish line, time will hold and run shall be considered qualified.

H.        The standard cloverleaf barrel racing pattern shall be used for distances.

I.           If the contestant’s hat/helmet leaves the body of the contestant during any run, they will receive a 10-second penalty. 

J.          One competitor, one horse - per age group.

 

BARRELS 3-4-5 Girls Event
