in 70% of the scheduled Rodeos allows Contestant to:
How
IJRA Final Points Are Kept
Points
are kept for each event in the three age groups for both boys and girls.
In unisex events, boys and girls are scored together.
- The
year All Around points are the total points per rodeo that each
Contestant earns including all points earned at State Finals.
No rodeos are dropped to determine Year-End All Around Cowboy
and Cowgirl for each age division.
- The
event points (these points determine who goes to the State Finals)
are the points each Contestant earns in each of his/her events during
the regular rodeo season.
- Only
one missed rodeo or the lowest score in each event will be dropped for final
qualifiers and event winners. In
Combined Events, the score of both half-point events is added together, and
then one missed rodeo or the lowest combined score for a single rodeo will
be dropped for final qualifiers and event winners.
- After
dropping the lowest scores in each event, then total to determine the top
point holders in each event. The
top four contestant in each event accepting an invitation will qualify for
the State Finals.
- The
State Finals points will
be weighted heavier per rodeo than other regular season rodeos.
Points will be awarded as follows:
1st Place =20, 2nd place=15, 3rd place=10,4thplace=5. Day one +Day 2 +
Average=Final Score.
The
State Finals consist of two (2) rodeos over a 2-day period.
- The
event winners are determined by adding the event points earned during the
2-day finals to the total state qualifying point.

The
All Around Cowboy and Cowgirl of the State Finals are determined by the
greatest number of points earned during the 2-day event in each age group
earned only at the State Finals.
Any
awarded average points to be included in totaling points for All Around
Cowboy and Cowgirl for the State Finals (and for Year-End All Around Cowboy
and Cowgirl as well.)
